Stortingskammeret

The Stortingskammer is decorated with pictures and books from the Storting and is located on our first floor. The Storting Building from 1866 is perhaps one of Norway's most characteristic buildings and an important part of Oslo's cityscape. All of our Storting Presidents have their picture on the wall in this room. There is space for 18 guests at the long table and up to 36 guests at smaller tables.

Midtkammeret

The Midtkammer is also on the first floor and is decorated with old pictures and characters from the Christiania Theater.
Christiania Theater was a theater in Oslo that opened on Bankplassen near Akershus Fortress in 1837. It was originally a Danish establishment but eventually served as our national theater until the National Theatre was inaugurated in 1899.

We can set up a long table for 16 guests in the room and up to 24 guests at small tables. This room is very suitable for board dinners and private parties, and is well-suited for lunch meetings. In the room, there are busts of Espen Skjønberg, Aase Bye, Per Aabel, Johanne Dybwad, and Mentz Schulerud.

Hjørnekammeret

Hjørnekammer is also on the first floor and was where the Kristiania Bohemians met at Engebret. The Kristiania Bohemians were a political and cultural movement in the 1880s centered in Kristiania. They often held their meetings and gatherings here in the Corner Chamber.

There are artist shields from the Order of the Purple Nose hanging here, some of the shields that hang here are: Toralv Maurstad, Kjell Aukrust, Espen Skjønberg, Robert Levin, Aud Schønemann, Jahn Otto Johannsen, Queen Sonja, Liv Ullmann, Leif Juster, Wenche Foss, Charlie Chaplin, Vanessa Redgrave.

Akevittkammer

Overproduction of grain in the Oslo region in the old days led to farmers starting to cultivate potatoes - creating an almost perfect symbiosis where the potatoes were used for food, potato peels and leftovers for distillation, which also produced the byproduct, dranken. The dranken was given to the cows and resulted in better milk production - perhaps it's not surprising that aquavit and cheese go so well together.

Several of the still well-known types of aquavit originated here in the city center.

Akevittkammer is located on our second floor and can accommodate 30 people at small tables and 16 at a long table.

Festsalen

Our Festsal is located on the second floor and is decorated with old paintings from Oslo. Engebret's Festsal has been the venue for many and grand occasions. Edvard Grieg had his last major event with us in 1906, where they, among other things, ate real turtle soup and moonshine pudding and drank sweet Champagne. Edvard Grieg passed away in 1907.
During the 1950s and 1960s, the mayors of Oslo had their regular lunch meetings in the Banquet Hall on weekdays.
NRK broadcasted 134 episodes of "Husker du" from Festsalen.

There have been numerous weddings and anniversaries held in our Festsal throughout the years.
Today, Festsal is also frequently used for photo sessions and filming of various TV and film productions.
We can set up with small tables, long tables, round tables, or a royal table. Festsalen can accommodate 90 guests, but it also works very well for smaller gatherings. It is often used for meetings and small conferences during the daytime. There is a separate bar in the venue that can be used.

There is also a separate cloakroom on the 2nd floor
